The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University invites applications and nominations for a full-time faculty position in dance (Contemporary Ballet Embodied Practice) to begin in the fall semester 2022.
Responsibilities include teaching multiple levels of Contemporary Ballet forms, including Contemporary Partnering; an awareness of decolonial dialogues within ballet practices; and staging and/or choreographing Contemporary Ballet dance works. Additional responsibilities may include participation in recruitment efforts, auditions, juries, advising and other tasks important to the maintenance of the department. The College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications for two tenure-track, Assistant
Professors in the Department of Dance beginning August 2022.
Terminal degree required. A depth of technical practice and pedagogical skills in ballet or
modern or contemporary styles of movement and experience teaching advanced, pre-professional
dance majors. Experience in choreography and a committed practice to exploring, advancing
these processes and practices to support shifting constructs in 21st century dance. Interest in
contemporary aesthetics of movement, cross cultural connections, and emerging trends in dance
performance, choreography, and education. Demonstrated abilities in teaching in higher
education, and a record of creative and/or written scholarship.
